The highlight of the night was when President Obama sang along to their wedding song, “You and I,” creating a magical moment that Wilson fondly remembers.
Continuing the Musical Journey
Even after his retirement from the Marine Band, Wilson continues to immerse himself in music. He conducts three orchestras, plays the violin, composes, arranges music, and is currently writing his memoir about his 30 years in the Marine Band. His passion for music remains undiminished, and he continues to explore and grow in his musical journey.

Wilson expresses his admiration for American composers, including the great black composer William Grant Still, known as the dean of Afro-American composers. He also appreciates the works of John Williams, Aaron Copeland, and George Gershwin, among others.
